We're about six months into this thing called Chronicle, and I'm having a blast. I'm drawing every day, my artwork is (very gradually) improving, and I haven't missed a single weekday since the first strip. I think the characters are pretty well established, and I have no shortage of goofy scenarios in which to place them. In short, being a cartoonist is even more fun and rewarding than I thought it would be.

Six months isn't a very long time in the life of a webcomic, but it's long enough that I'm prompted to take stock. This means taking a step back and rethinking things like marketing, the website, the upcoming Chronicle book, and my interactions with the readership.

I invite your feedback in any form and on any topic. You can drop me an email at joshway (at) or stop by the forum to share your thoughts/ideas/suggestions. I'd love to hear from you on any topic, but here are some specific questions I'll throw out to you:
  • What is good/funny/clever or lame/cheesy/stupid about the strip?
  • Would you like to see the strip in color someday?
  • Do you wish Chronicle posted on weekends?
  • Is the website easy to use?
  • Do you wish there were more ways to discuss/comment on the strip?
  • Are there any other features missing from the website?
  • Should Chronicle books be published every six months (approx. 75 pages) or annually (approx. 150 pages)?
  • Is there any other Chronicle merchandise you'd like to see?
  • Are there better ways Chronicle could be promoted?
I typically don't fish for feedback, but in this case I think it's appropriate. There's a small chunk of you out there you have been reading since the beginning, and I'd imagine you have some thoughts about all of this. I'm all ears.
